Prisoner Support - Volunteer
A semi-retired tradesman, Harold joined Auxilium’s Prison Project as a volunteer with the intent of helping inmates see that they have a choice in how they handle their time behind bars. By his second visit, Harold understood that the learning was mutual; they meet as equals, and share their common humanity with each other. Harold learned so much about himself from the inmates as their questions often cause him to reflect more deeply on his own motives and actions. All of the inmates that he has met are curious and want to learn. They are also very motivated to improve their lives while serving their time, and want to learn how to have a better life once released.
