The illicit exploitation of natural resources – from oil and minerals to forests and fisheries – is a grave threat to human security everywhere. Our work encompasses both countering illicit activity and supporting sustainability.
In recent years, resource-related threats have multiplied. The theft and smuggling of petroleum products finances corruption, terror, and organized crime. Gold is both mined illegally in environmentally poisonous ways and used to finance other criminal enterprises and launder their proceeds. State actors instrumentalize criminal networks and corrupt government officials to facilitate the rapacious extraction of resource wealth on both land and water.
Auxilium Worldwide works to solve these problems.
