David Soud is Head of Resource Responsibility at Auxilium Worldwide. A tenacious researcher and investigator, he is a leading expert on illicit supply chains and the malign exploitation of resources, especially extractives, and has worked with international organizations, governments, law enforcement agencies, think tanks, and private clients around the world. He has done groundbreaking work in tracking the illicit exploitation of both precious metals and hydrocarbons as well as investigating sanctions evasion and resource-related financial crimes. David has consulted in the private sector on strengthening supply chain due diligence. He has authored seminal reports on illicit gold flows and oil and fuel crime, and has investigated and published regarding other resource-related challenges, including illegal logging and associated trade, IUU fishing, and the nexus between resource-related crime and transnational organized crime. He also contributes to Auxilium Worldwide’s cancer research project and participates in our prisoner support program. David holds a AB from Davidson College, an MA from the University of Delaware, and a DPhil from the University of Oxford.
