Meet Dr. Tanya Khazan

Tanya Khazan received her M.D. from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed her residency training in psychiatry at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.  Until her retirement in March of 2025, Tanya served on the faculty in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, teaching both medical students and residents.  She devoted her career to the psychiatric care of veterans, practicing at the Baltimore VA Medical Center.  For 35 years she was a front line clinician in both inpatient and outpatient settings.  Additionally, Tanya was the medical director for outpatient psychiatry, a setting in which she was able to mentor staff psychiatrists and advocate for access to mental health care.  Tanya continues to provide consultation to colleagues in her field.
